Mission

Harare International School, as an IB World School, enables the development of the skills, knowledge, values and attributes for life-long learning, community service and global citizenship.

What can you expect from an education at Harare International School?

HIS is an exceptional place to learn; whether learning about specifics related to academics, life-long personal attributes, understanding and acceptance of others, or in learning to take some risks acting in a performance, playing an instrument on stage, or participating in a sport.  In short, we teach our students to be curious, compassionate, and confident.

You can expect your child to be taught by an outstanding team of educators who will challenge your child to be the best he/she can be, both inside and outside the classroom.  Our teachers represent over 15 nationalities.  They are engaged in significant professional learning on an ongoing basis, and a number of our faulty are engaged as workshop leaders, consultants to schools, resource developers and examiners for the IB and other professional organizations.

HIS is fully accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), and the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO).  As an IB school, we offer the Primary Years Programme and the Diploma Programme and are also a candidate school for the Middle Years Programme.

We are confident that our students will experience a coherent education that will help them become life-long learners, able to not only cope with the ever changing world of today and tomorrow, but to thrive in their education and interests.
