Harare International School (HIS) occupies a distinct place in Zimbabwe's education system. We were established under a dual mandate, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to serve the diplomatic community, and to ensure that a meaningful proportion of our students are Zimbabwean.

Over 50 vendors have been confirmed for Harare International School's 2026 May Fair. From arts and crafts, to fashion, gifts, and a variety of food stalls, it's all there. Then there's the ever-popular yard sale. This event is a real community celebration; over 1,000 people attended last year.

Harare International School recently held a community screening of the award-winning documentary: Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age. The film looks at the challenges of growing up in an age of 24/7 connectivity.

Our Grade 5 students recently presented their Primary Years Programme (PYP) Exhibition under the theme Sharing the Planet. This challenging multi-week project is one of the major highlights of their elementary school years.

Book Week is one of our favorite celebrations at HIS. From 20 to 24 April, students participated in a Read-a-thon to reach grade-level goals. Highlights included a picnic breakfast , guest readers Adiona and Gugu , and a festive character parade.
