Elementary School

Hello and welcome to HIS Elementary School. My name is Chantal Theron and I am your Principal.

I am an international educator and Leadership Consultant. Recently I  have been working with the Diversity Collaborative.

This is why HIS was my first choice in accepting the role of Elementary Principal. HIS is the only school I have found that works consistently and with intention towards these goals. The mission statement of the school states ‘A Boldly Diverse Learning Community’, perfectly in line with the IB and my own philosophy on a school environment that fosters a sense of belonging. Here at HIS we strive to ensure that all our students, parents and teachers feel that they are seen, heard and their opinions are valued within the framework of who we are. 

As a teacher, Pastoral Coordinator, Assistant Principal, Principal, Head of School and Leadership Consultant in over five countries throughout the world, I have the honour of leading the dedicated, child-centred staff of HIS on their journey to create something extraordinary in the world of education. On entering the beautiful campus, green lawns, huge trees and friendly bird life, you will feel the difference. Once you settle into the daily life of a learning community member at HIS, you will know the difference to be true. Waiting each morning under the ‘Big Tree’ to greet our students as they arrive, the joy, enthusiasm and sheer happiness of our students is a reflection of the way they experience a profound sense of belonging at HIS' Elementary School.
