Short History of HIS
HIS was founded by a parent and librarian named Susan Haight in 1992, in partnership with the American Embassy. The school was officially signed into existence on October 31, 1992, when the founders signed a Memorandum of Understanding with representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Zimbabwe. The school founders then hired the first HIS director, Cynthia Gray. The official gala opening of the school was held on January 29, 1993 at the Milton Park location.
