Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome to Harare International School!

Last year as we celebrated our 25th anniversary. This year, as we look ahead to the next 25 years, we have invited our entire community to contribute thoughts on our identity: who we are as a school, and who we strive to be as we look to the future. By the end of February 2019, watch this space for our newly articulate Mission and Vision!

HIS is a not-for-profit international school. This is important as it means that all fees are dedicated to providing the best educational experiences for our students. Our student population represents over 50 different nationalities, and our teaching faculty includes over 15 different nationalities. Upon visiting our campus, you will certainly feel rich diversity and a close-knit community.

We are a Continuum International Baccalaureate School, offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the highly sought Diploma Programme (DP). This means that students’ learning is rigorous, inquiry-based and authentic, and incorporate experiences that extend beyond the classroom, during our Explore Zimbabwe week, through ISSEA sports and cultural events, and embedded in the curriculum. As an Elementary, Middle or High school student or parent, your role as an HIS community member is significant and will help shape the next 25 years.

Whether you are new to HIS this year, or are a returning family, experiences at HIS should enrich your mind and body, and push you slightly beyond your comfort zone in all areas of learning. We hope that our website is a practical source of information and celebrates our unique identity.   If you would like to make an appointment to meet our dedicated leadership team, our enthusiastic teachers, and visit our campus, please contact us at: admissions@his.ac.zw

It is my honour to welcome you to our community. I look forward to meeting you and to a remarkable year!

Sincerely,

Arden Tyoschin
