Everything You Need to Know About May Fair 2026

Families browsing stalls at May fair 2025.

Imagine your kids bouncing all day on jumping castles, racing down water slides, and launching themselves on a bungee trampoline, all for free, while you browse art stalls, hunt for yard sale treasures, and eat your way through burgers, shawarma, sadza, and more.

Tickets, Attendance & WiFi

That's May Fair 2026. Saturday, 9 May, 9am to 3pm, at Harare International School (HIS) on Pendennis Road, Mt. Pleasant. Tickets are $5 at the gate. Kids under two are free.

Last year over 1,000 people came through. Based on ticket sales, we're expecting more visitors this time. Come and be part of the fun!

The whole event has free wifi, courtesy of AURA Technologies.

A Family Event

The Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) organizes May Fair every year to bring the HIS community together and raise money for things like teacher appreciation, staff room upgrades, and other initiatives that help to keep the school running well.

The event focuses on families and one of the main features is the free kids activities. So once your children are through the gate, they can enjoy unlimited play all day.

Entertainment for the day also includes live performances from different groups, including the HIS Marimba band.

Over 50 Vendors

This year's vendor lineup includes over 50 stalls covering handmade pottery, original paintings, beaded and sterling silver jewellery, crochet fashion and toys, metal sculpture, hand-carved wooden housewares, and Tonga baskets from Binga.

For fashion, there's African print clothing, contemporary womenswear, streetwear, and accessories. Wellness and beauty vendors are bringing natural skincare using indigenous botanicals, herbal teas, mineral makeup, and handmade candles.

Gift shoppers will find faith-inspired books and games, luxury hampers, rustic homeware, and Southern African gemstones.

Food Options

Food is well covered. Masala Magic brings Indian street food, there's Arabic street food, West African jollof rice, Ethiopian cuisine, gourmet sandwiches, Chinese food, burgers, wraps, fresh fruit juice, and more. Something for everyone, including the picky ones.

The ever-popular yard sale is back, with HIS families selling second-hand clothes, books, toys, household goods, games, and camping gear. Go early if you want the good stuff.
