Strategic Plan 2025-28

The HIS Strategic Plan is the guiding document for prioritizing initiatives and action plans during the school years 2025-2026, 2026-2027, and 2027-2028. HIS has a clear Mission and Strategic Priorities, and the Plan is meant to ensure that the school’s resources are used to further the Mission and the Strategic Priorities as well as reflect the needs and feedback of the HIS community. The Plan also incorporates learnings from past and current initiatives supporting the Strategic Priorities.

The HIS Strategic Plan Task Force surveyed parents, students and teachers in the Spring of 2023. The Task Force sought to extend the HIS Strategic Priorities by asking further questions about the status and preferred future for each component. Once these data were collated, the Task Force identified three ‘Accelerators’ and four ‘Strategic Directions’ of development.

Strategic Directions

What are Strategic Directions?  Strategic Directions are the specific areas of development that HIS should prioritize in the coming years according to the HIS community. Specifically, these four Strategic Directions focus on creating a comprehensive, forward-thinking educational environment that promotes student success, innovation, and meaningful community connections. By aligning the curriculum with future skills, encouraging creativity and innovation, and fostering community engagement, students will be well-equipped to thrive in both their academic journeys and the wider world.

Creating and Developing Opportunities for Innovation

Strategic Goal: Increase and improve the use of innovative, student-centered teaching methodologies by providing teacher training opportunities that will be supported across the school through opportunities for research, strategic partnerships and in-house workshop styled training.
