Director’s Message

Dear Students and Parents!

Welcome to the Harare International School 2023-2024!  I hope that this message finds you rested and ready to ‘begin again’ in what will surely be an eventful year in your learning and the school.

Our mission is rare and wonderful among international schools.  We celebrate our diversity with more than 40 student nationalities and numerous opportunities to explore our many cultures and host country celebrations.  Our teachers hail from more than 15 different nations and they bring a wide range of educational and cultural perspectives to their classroom and our students.

As we inspire curiosity, embrace challenges and nurture personal growth, our students live our mission and we can observe their delight of discovery, perseverance in a challenge and their pursuit of learning in the many projects they undertake every day here at HIS.  

As a Continuum International Baccalaureate School, where we offer the Primary Years Program, (PYP), the Middle Years Program (MYP) and the Diploma Program (DP).  Central to these programs is a rigorous, inquiry-based curriculum that compels students to  reflect upon and explore authentic experiences and content in and out of the classroom.  As a non-profit organization, all of our tuition and fees are focused on delivering the very best learning experiences for our students.  Given this, we have numerous programs that ensure our students experience HIS and Zimbabwe throughout the course of the year.
